At Ovako, we use partnerships to provide benefits to our customers and stakeholders, as well as our own operations. We explored our hydrogen partnership in last month’s Strength of Steel newsletter and it’s worth diving deeper into our broader approach to partnership.
Working in partnership helps us to stretch further than we could by working alone. One example is our work on Polestar 0, the moon-shot project to create the first climate-neutral car by 2030. We are one of more than 20 partners chosen by Polestar.
The project will change the way that cars are made at every step of the supply chain and across every material and component. It will cover raw material extraction, transport, processing, manufacture and assembly, as well as the energy used in production.
As a supplier of specialty steel, our material is used in electric motors, as well as transmission, driveline and chassis components. Therefore, our role is to maximize the reduction of the CO2 footprint that relate to the upstream effects from alloying content, as well as cutting waste from our internal processes.
